Camera Opus offers remote control of camera functions via a smartwatch interface. It provides real-time camera view on the watch display, supports QR and bar code scanning, and integrates a built-in motion detection engine that issues alerts upon detecting movement within the monitored area.

The application supports smartwatches equipped with Wear OS, Harmony OS, Garmin, and Fitbit platforms.

<li>Monitoring a baby or observing a room in real-time through camera preview or motion detection from the smartwatch.</li>
<li>Scanning product QR codes or bar codes directly from labels or packaging.</li>

Necessary permissions for optimal functionality include:
<ul>
<li>Camera access to control the phone’s camera functions.</li>
<li>Microphone access for video recording with audio.</li>
<li>Storage permission to save media files.</li>
<li>Display over other apps, which must be enabled manually in device settings from Android 10 onward to allow background camera view operation.</li>
<li>Location services, optional, if geotagging images.</li>
</ul>

It is recommended to add Camera Opus to the list of apps excluded from power-saving restrictions to maintain background operation, as some manufacturers like Huawei or Xiaomi may terminate background processes. Adjust these settings in the device's power management options within the app settings if necessary. The background service facilitates automatic connection between the smartwatch and the phone but consumes additional battery power, which can be disabled in app settings if desired.

The application is compatible with Wear OS smartwatches from version 2.1 onwards. The watch component must be downloaded from the Google Play Store on the device. For Harmony OS-based watches, installation is through Huawei’s Health or AppGallery. Garmin users can find the app in Garmin Connect IQ Store, supporting most touch and button-operated devices. Fitbit users should download from Fitbit Apps Gallery.

The free version of Camera Opus has functional limitations, including reduced photo and video quality capped at 1 megapixel. Premium versions are available for purchase via the phone or watch app (on Wear OS devices), offering full functionality without restrictions.

Users experiencing bugs or wishing to submit suggestions are encouraged to contact support via email. For bug reports on the phone, access Settings within Camera Opus, scroll to ‘Send bugs report to developer,’ and provide a brief description of the issue.
